UPDATE, 12 December 2011: We've crunched the numbers on the new Parliament, and it doesn't look too promising for reproductive rights. We've put it all together in a blog post titled The Road Ahead for Choice. We lost a champion in Steve Chadwick, as well as a heap of other good people. The Cabinet picks are rather ominous, too.
UPDATE 28 October: Statistics NZ figures show abortions continue to decline, with 16,630 induced abortions performed in New Zealand in 2010, 920 fewer than in 2009. ALRANZ issued a media release on the stats which are available in full at Stats NZ's site.
